The Headgear of Legacy : A Story of Momentum and Community
Seven years ago, one man dared to plant a seed – an idea that professional speakers across India needed a tribe, a community, a home where they could learn, grow, and lift each other up.
That man is Kiruba Shankar , and that seed has grown into something extraordinary: The Professional Speakers Association of India (PSAI).
Last week, we stood together at PSS2025, and I couldn’t help but smile at the symbolism of the headgear we’re wearing in this picture.
In Indian culture, the Pagdi (turban) is a mark of honor, #leadership, and celebration – and in many ways, it represents the journey of #PSAI itself.
A headgear isn’t just worn – it is earned.
Kiruba was the one who first wore the weight of responsibility, the uncertainty of starting something new. He gathered like-minded individuals, sparked conversations, and set the wheels in motion. And just like that, a movement began.
But here’s the thing about momentum – it doesn’t stop with one person. Over the years, many more have stepped forward to wear the ‘PSAI Pagdi’, carrying forward the mission of building a thriving community of speakers, thought leaders, and change-makers.
Today, as I proudly wear this vibrant headgear alongside Kiruba, I see more than just tradition…..
I see legacy.
I see impact.
I see a community that has transformed into a force to be reckoned with.
To every speaker, mentor, and leader who has contributed to this journey – this headgear belongs to you too. Because leadership isn’t about wearing the crown yourself; it’s about passing it on, growing the tribe, and ensuring that the momentum never stops………..
