“That Quiet Corner – That Quiet Moment – That Changed Everything”
200%.
Yes – a lots changed that day.
A quiet corner.
A warm leather couch.
Framed photographs of leaders from another time looking down from the walls.
In front of me – a table with the IAF logo.
A yellow marker in my hand.
My head bent low, the world around me fading into silence.
I sat writing words from a place much deeper within me.
This was 2 years ago, I was in an #IAF program.
We were in the middle of a process – one that I had experienced few times before.
But that day… something was different.
A question landed.
It didn’t just make me think.
It made me search.
Search within.
Search for patterns.
Search for the #story behind my story.
And in that quiet moment, I began to write –
Not as a #facilitator.
Not as a trainer.
Not even as a #coach.
But as a human being… reflecting, reframing, realigning.
A. With IAF, my understanding of facilitation has deepened over the years.
B. I have learnt to listen differently.
C. To engage more intentionally in the classroom.
D. To help my corporate audiences achieve not just learning outcomes – but business results.
E. To work with sustainability in mind.
That day, my narrative changed.
And once your own story changes….
You carry that transformation into every room you enter.
These reflections – born from my own journey – are now my greatest tools.
The quiet nudges.
The powerful metaphors.
The stories I use to help participants create their own #shift.
Because the real magic of facilitation isn’t in what we say.
“It’s in the spaces where we, too, are willing to be transformed”…………
When was the last time you paused long enough to change your own story???
