R is for ‘Roles & Responsibilities’ of your teams !
It’s NOT my job.
Why should I do this ??
No one told me to do this ??
Why am I being dragged into every project ??
Sounds familiar – right ?????
Well – often most team members are put into positions and projects without fully knowing what they are responsible for and accountable for.
Defined Roles and Responsibilities provide #clarity, alignment and expectations to those executing the work in the project.
Try this in the next team huddle :
Ask each team member to answer the following four questions:
– How does the company see your role on the team?
– How do you see your role on your team?
– What resources do you need in order to effectively carry out your role?
– What do you need to know about other people’s roles in order to do your job better?
Each person writes answers to these questions and then speaks up.
And then everyone discusses and come to an agreement on how that person’s role and responsibility is best defined.
#Belbin team roles can give you insight which would amaze you no ends. Explore this unique tool for those highly productive teams.
