Post 2 | Ajit Kamath CPF-M (Certified™ Professional Facilitator-Master)

Some moments don’t just stay in memory – 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢.
June 2018.
My very first IAF session……..I walked into a room full of seasoned, accomplished facilitators, unsure, curious, and quietly excited. And then ‘Ajit Kamath’ began speaking.

Ajit spoke of being content neutral,
of divergent and convergent thinking,
of holding space without bias,
of trusting the group’s collective wisdom.

And something shifted in me.

For the next three hours, I listened, learned, absorbed…mesmerized by the simplicity and depth of facilitation. And then, somewhere around the last hour, I looked around the room and my inner voice whispered:

“This is my tribe”

By the time I boarded the metro back home, I wasn’t just carrying notes from the session –
I was carrying #clarity. And sitting there in the train, smiling to myself, replaying Ajit’s teachings… I opened my phone and signed up as an IAF member.

A seed planted. A journey begun.

Over the years, I saw Ajit in many avatars –
As a teacher of #Improv, stretching us to think on our feet.
As a calm guide showing us how to listen beyond words.
And most powerfully –
As the anchor of a global community during the lockdown of April 2020.

When the world froze, 𝐴𝑗𝑖𝑡 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑑.

He took it upon himself to teach facilitators how to design online sessions, engage creatively,
and translate ‘presence into pixels’.
He didn’t just adapt – He helped the world adapt.
Ajit’s contribution to IAF India and global facilitation community is immense.

My Profound Learning from Ajit: “A facilitator’s power lies not in leading the conversation, but in getting out of its way” ….and Ajit embodies this truth.

And I say this with pride and affection:
I may not have been his brightest student…
but I have surely been one of his grateful ones.

Thank you, Ajit,
for giving so many of us our roots…
and showing us our wings.
