Zen state for teams is described as a shared belief among team members that their interactions are characterized by awareness and attention to present events.
It is about creating a collective ethos and cultivating a collective awareness amongst all team members.
It refers to “a shared belief within a team of focusing on the present moment and ensuring team members interact with one another with compassion, without judgement and prejudice.”
Zen teams learn ways of turning their attention to issues such as the team’s purpose, performance and processes as well as its climate and its problems.
They learn, nonjudgmentally, to speak the unspeakable and hear what was previously unsayable.
When members of a team feel and know that they are seen, heard and respected an increased sense of psychological safety emerges.
And that supports openness to diversity which allows everyone to perform at their best, releasing the team’s innate capacity for innovation.
Enabling useful conversations, unlocking team potential, increasing psychological safety and allowing all members to contribute and to thrive are the best practices for Zen Teams.
Hold hands and thrive together as Zen Teams to create long term sustainable business.
